It has been almost a year since we took possession of our new home built by Dicarlo Homes. I just want to give you an update as to how things are. I had a very established and reputable home inspector do a report on deficiencies to assist us on our 1 year Tarion inspection. He found the overall finish, build quality and functional condition of this home to be far above the standards for a home of this vintage and construction type and the deficiency list was far less typical compared to the same.
Our experience with Dicarlo homes has been exceptional compared to accounts I have heard from people I know that have bought from other reputable local builders. Dicarlo was very accommodating to our input throughout the building process. Also,John Dicarlo in particular was in the home almost the same day that we may have had a complaint or concern about anything once we had possession, and then was very prompt in correcting any such concerns. I was fortunate to have been able to observe first hand the building process of this home on a daily basis as it was under construction (translation: pain in the ass) I believe the quality of the trades people that Dicarlo used were much superior to the typical new home construction in this very active new home market. I would have absolutely no hesitation to Dicarlo Homes to anyone wanting a quality, well built custom home.

I recently hired John DiCarlo as a contractor for my new home in Stoney Creek. It was a great experience and I wanted to pass my thoughts for others who are considering John in a similar capacity. At first I was hesitant to hire a contractor. I wanted a quality build and wanted to keep unavoidable costs to a minimum. I decided to go with John based on the positive feedback I heard from others who bought a new home from DiCarlo Homes. This was our first time building a house and I have to say the entire experience, from the beginning with the design of the house, to the present, with John DiCarlo has been pleasant.
John is extremely knowledgeable and provided many suggestions on upgrades, ergonomic and other changes throughout this process. He was at the house everyday discussing special requests with the subcontractors and inspecting their work. We were in constant communication throughout the build. Where issues would arise, John would make me aware of them and provide his thoughts as to how they should be resolved.
The home is now completed and I am very happy with the service John provided and the quality of the home. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. We came within budget after incorporatingmore upgrades than expected. I saved money on subcontractors and materials from John's longstanding relationships. More importantly I saved a significant amount of time and avoided the stress that could go with a new home construction. I would recommend John DiCarlo and DiCarlo Homes to anyone considering using a contractor or buying a new home.
